Coffee House Blues

A literary chapbook featuring poetry, prose and non-fiction.

Why Coffee House Blues?
Nostalgia inspires the present and the future. Living life on the road, smoking cheap cigarettes, enjoying coffee in a cafe whilst writing poetry, reading novels until their pages fall out and record shopping until you have no money left for food, but that’s alright because literature and music keep you well fed anyway.

Submission Guidelines

There are no themes, it is encouraged that writers send in whatever they want to. If you have a query about the content of your work then please send an email.

Short stories need to be under 2000 words.
You can send up to 4 poems in at a time. Please send them as a batch and not as separate emails.
If you want to write a literary feature or essay then please pitch the idea to me first.

Patchouli Press is run by one person and all the money that comes into the press goes straight out again for printing and web costs so unfortunately we cannot pay you at this time. Each contributor will receive a complimentary printed copy of the chapbook.

All submissions must be contained in a Word document attached to the email, please do not include it into the body of the email. No fancy fonts either. If you want me to know more about you then pop that in the body of the email but all submissions must be an attachment. Don’t forget to write your name on your submission Word document.
